Somerset cider gets first Red Tractor Mark

October 23 2008

David Sheppy (right) and Ken Sutherland (NFU) the new Farmers Harvest cider and, of course, a big red tractor!

The first cider to display the Red Tractor logo has gone on sale.

Produced by Sheppy’s of Bradford on Tone near Taunton in Somerset, Farmers Harvest has been produced with and for the National Farmers Union to celebrate their centenary year.

Now a widely recognised brand logo on a range of goods, the Red Tractor mark identifies and guarantees products as being made from quality British materials, and was important to the NFU who champion this in support of British farming.

‘Quality assessment procedures were part of the process of getting the Red Tractor mark for this cider, which is available from selected Tesco stores, widespread independent outlets and our farm shop,’ said Louisa Sheppy.
