Huge interest in premium ciders sparks new Aspall launch

October 23 2008

Aspall is launching a mixed case of Aspall Suffolk Cyder to capitalise on the growing popularity of the premium cider category.

Developed in partnership with Majestic Wine in specially designed cases, the 12-bottle selection pack holds four 500ml bottles each of Aspall Premier Cru, Organic and Draught Suffolk Cyder. A second 12-bottle case of Aspall Draught Suffolk Cyder is also now available.

Aspall partner, Barry Chevallier Guild, says: ‘This mixed case gives increasingly discerning consumers the opportunity to develop their knowledge further by encouraging trial of our award-winning cyders. The three cyders all offer something a bit different, whether enjoyed on their own or with food. We are delighted to be breaking into new territory with Majestic Wine as it is a great fit with our business in terms of quality credentials.’

Majestic Wine buyer, Suzie Harrison, says: ‘Mixed cases are extremely popular with Majestic Wine customers and offering a premium cider case was a natural extension to this, tapping into the huge interest we have witnessed in the category over the last couple of years.

  • A family business since 1728, Aspall is now run by the eighth generation of the Chevallier Guild family and to this day every batch of Aspall cyder is tasted and approved by a family member. The company sources the majority of its apples from local East Anglian orchards and works with the region’s apple growers to ensure long-term sustainability.
