Aspall heads North of the Border

October 23 2008

Suffolk producer Aspall has launched its super-premium Suffolk cyders into Scotland, as part of its ongoing UK expansion into the premium on-trade.

Belhaven Brewery is now listing Perronelle’s Blush, the cyder blended with blackberry liqueur, and Aspall Draught Suffolk Cyder (keg format), which are now both available to its 700 free-trade customers in Scotland.

The Aspall salesforce is currently out on the road visiting Belhaven customers, presenting Aspall cyders and explaining the importance of serving them in branded goblets to provide a quality drinking experience.

Barry Chevallier Guild, Aspall partner, says: ‘Since Suffolk Cyder was relaunched in 2000 it has won numerous awards for quality and is selectively available in on-trade outlets as well as the off-trade.  Launching into Scotland was the next natural progression for Aspall Suffolk Cyder and Belhaven is a perfect fit as it reflects the product’s premium and quality credentials.’

Shelagh Bryce, Belhaven’s director of customer services, says: ‘Aspall Suffolk Cyder adds value to our licensees’ pubs by providing a point of difference, allowing them to stand out from the competition. Consumers are increasingly looking for premium, authentic products and Aspall Suffolk Cyder matches this need and complements our premium portfolio perfectly.’
